Paul Bordeaux

Paul began in luthiery in 1981 with only a Les Paul guitar and his dad’s jigsaw. This new and improved” double cut-away" inspired him to read all he could on this craft, and he began doing repairs locally, building his skills.

In 1987, Paul traveled out west to attend G.I.T. in Hollywood, and eventually began work at Carruther's Guitars working on instruments owned by top artists in nearly every music genre:

In 1992, after experiencing earthquakes, riots, and epic surf, Paul moved back to northern New York and began a 5-year partnership with David Nichols at Custom Pearl Inlay.

Since then, Paul has set up his own shop in Massena NY  specializing in custom inlay and design, catering not only to builders, but also the players of instruments around the world.

Some recipients of Paul's work include Artists: Aerosmith, Buzz Feiten, Brad Paisley, ZZ Top, The Doors, Steve Vai, Def Leppard, Albert Collins, Eric Clapton, Jackson Browne, Bon Jovi, Lionna Boyd, and others. 

Builders include Campellone Guitars, Martin Guitar Co., Peavey Guitars, Wingert Guitars, Everett Guitars, Mike Longworth, Kamaka Ukulele, Buscarino Guitars, Schwartz guitars and many other amazing luthiers.

Bordeaux Inlay offers guitar builds and repairs by appointment, along with CNC work for larger production runs.
